Shop Sabbatical: Jan + Feb 2021

October 19, 2020

Dear Redbeard community,

We’re reaching out to update you on where we’re at — as a shop, and as humans.

This year, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we received a record number of requests for new bikes, bike service, and bike fittings. Through-the-roof, non-stop, since March.

We are thrilled to see so many New Yorkers turn to bikes! That said, we’re a small team, and we recently had some staff departures that — coupled with the unprecedented demand — have accelerated some changes we’d been planning anyway.

TL;DR: Redbeard Bikes will be closed January 1 through February 28, 2021, while we take a sabbatical to rest and regroup. We plan to re-open in March, with a renewed focus on bike fitting.

After eight years running Redbeard Bikes as a bustling full-service shop, we are returning to our original vision of a bike fit studio. We’ll be building custom bikes, and adjusting your existing bikes so you can ride without pain or injury.

We will continue to sell our kit and accessories, and we’ll do a limited amount of service. We’ll share more info about our new offerings, in March.

If you are on a wait list for a fitting or service: you will receive an email from us soon.

We expect to keep our web store running in our absence.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding. We hope to welcome you at Redbeard Bikes soon!

Stay safe, and please vote,
